Ricky cast a quick glance to the clock on the wall. He knew that by now the equipment would be nearly set up and that Debi, Tony, Danny and the rest of the band and crew would be waiting only semi-patiently.
He chuckled softly and tugged at the hem of his shirt as insistent fingers tried to pull it out of the way. Ricky’s success was met with a growl of frustration. He coaxed the fingers’ owner up and curled his fingers over the other man’s hip.
“Later, C,” he promised.

Ricky stood, microphone in one hand, Debi to his right, Tony and Danny behind him and JC in front of him.
When JC crossed his eyes and made a face, Ricky turned around to look at Danny. Which was a good idea until Danny began to laugh quietly. Ricky knew from experience how contagious Danny’s laugh was. He turned back around, resolutely NOT looking at JC. He knew without turning his head that Debi was trying not to laugh. Much.
As the music started, he counted the beat in his head, still determined to look anywhere but where JC sat only a few feet away.
“She’s the one - ” he began, and let himself be carried off by the familiar song.
And then he looked at JC and couldn’t help but crack up as JC made a face and a lewd gesture with his hands. His only hope was that he could pull it together before the next line started.

Afterwards, Ricky bumped the other man’s shoulder with his own as they walked down the nearly empty hall. “Funny man, Chasez,” he said quietly.
“Yeah, I know,” JC answered, bumping him back.
“You taking lessons from Chris?”
Everybody else walked far ahead, joking and laughing. JC squeezed Ricky’s hand briefly before releasing it.
“Hey, you finished the song,” JC pointed out helpfully.
Ricky nodded. “That I did. But the question is, are you going to finish your promise?” he asked, mimicking JC’s gesture from earlier.
“Oh you know I am,” JC answered quietly, dropping his voice.
