AUTHOR: Den / [livejournal.com profile] raynedanser
RATING: PG
Word Count: 292
SUMMARY: Chris sees something and misunderstands it. He was pissy and cranky but is getting over it.
A/N: I'd planned this to be a bit longer, but real life has a way of blowing up on me lately. This IS part three of three, the next part will be posted a week from today. ;-)

/ Part One / Part Two /

*****

As the sliding glass door slid shut behind him, sealing out the sounds, Chris took a deep breath. He knew this talk was necessary, but that didn't mean he liked it. He took one last quick look outside, half grinned at how Lance and Joey each waved their hands at him to get going, and finally went looking for JC.

He wasn't in all the obvious places. The kitchen was empty, the bathrooms, his bedroom, the studio. He finally found JC in the garage. He stared at a spot of dirt on the floor, hands stuffed deep in his jeans pockets as he leaned against the front bumper of Chris's Escalade.

"JC?" he asked quietly as he took a careful step closer. He stopped next to JC, leaned against the bumper with him. He was close enough to feel JC's body heat, but not close enough to touch.

JC looked up. Tension pulled at the corners of his eyes and he smiled weakly. "Still pissed?" he finally asked.

Chris shook his head. "Not so much. Confused, maybe."

JC sighed and scuffed his foot against the floor. "Yeah. Look, Chris, I never kissed him. You just - you walked in at a bad time."

Chris grunted. "I'll say. You were touching him."

JC looked up sharply. "Chris, I was pushing him away. He wanted to kiss me, but that doesn't mean I wanted to kiss him. And you'd have known that by now if you hadn't been avoiding me."

Chris bumped shoulders with JC. "Shaddup. Still love me?" he asked quietly.

JC leaned his head on Chris's shoulder. "Yeah, I do. You're stuck with me, dude."

Chris smiled and chuckled softly. Like that was such a bad thing.

I like it but now you have me wondering who the person is that attacked JC.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say attacked, but um. I don't know?

Honestly, I never got into the WHO, only the what, so actually knowing more than that had never been important. hee!

I completely understand. In the moment your more worried about getting your point across, and elegantly at that, that the other stuff isn't important or can wait for later.

I write too but none of my stuff is really that good. Plus I have issues with grammar. I'd be ashamed to put my name on something with as bad as my grammar is.

I had a good beta when I was starting out and now I mostly self edit, though I do get help, too. I never post (well, almost) without someone else looking over it first. *g*

We all have to start somewhere! ;-)

You're lucky though because you've got great friends like that.

There's beta comms on LJ, did you know that? you can go in and browse based on what fandom you're writing in and stuff. :D

Ah, but see I don't write fandom stuff. And all the stuff I want to write is epic as well lol. Plus I have a hard time writing stories. I have an idea and where I want it to go, but sometimes I just can't get it out.

I think there's some there that do original as well. :D and most don't mind helping with the longer ones and a good beta will hold your hand and help you get the story to make sense. :D

Even if you have no idea what to put in the middle?

What should I look for in a Beta?

From: [identity profile] raynedanser.livejournal.com
they can help you work it out, talk you through, pick your brain. ;-)

Um, you want someone that's going to be firm about helping you find your errors - not someone that's just going to tell you that something is good, omgyes post it! :D

if you want, send me something (in email) and i can show you how I do it. ;-)

Ok. I'll have to find something. It's been a while and I've been cleaning the computer so I'd have to go through some stuff.

I'll keep that in mind. I'll also find something really short for you to look at lol.

Thanks Den! I appreciate it. I've been trying really hard to get my head around stuff, but it's hard when you don't know where to start. It kind of feels like your floating in the same place not moving forward or backwards.

sometimes writing out just the blurbs you see and then you can figure out how to link them later works, too.

Do you ever get bits and pieces of another story? lol

Date: 2008-08-18 12:37 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] raynedanser.livejournal.com
Oh yes. And I usually end up with them saved in a folder to keep them together.

Why didn't I think of that lol.

What is your email adress? I know you've been having trouble with some of them so I'm not sure which one lol.
